One and a half weeks ago, on March 28th 2021, I was waiting in queue for a chicken rice take away when I noticed the veins in my hand. I lifted my hand above my head and all the blood drained out of the veins. Then I lowered my hand to below my waist and the veins in my hand began to fill up with blood and swell.
Time for veins to swell
It took about 5 seconds for the veins in my hand to fill up and swell. That got me thinking about blood flow within the body.
Many people have clogged arteries
I remembered that many of my friends either had children who had to go for heart surgery or they themselves had gone for heart surgery. Surgery was necessary as their heart blood vessels were getting blocked and there was no other alternative.
Symptoms of clogged arteries
Do check out some of the symptoms of clogged arteries as indicated by the articles below:-
I wondered, if you get these symptoms, is it already too late for you?
Is there an early way to detect clogging of arteries?
Really, in the end, if appears that my friends and their families did not know that, in their youth, their arteries and veins were getting clogged. Could they have detected such clogging and changed their diet or taken medication to clear the problem or reduce it substantially? I wondered.
Potential detection of clogging arteries
So, as I was standing in queue at the chicken rice stall, it occurred to me that it may be possible to have early detection of clogging arteries and veins if we could measure the rate of blood flow unobtrusively. Couldn't it?
Do watch the video below to show you what I meant.
I am not a medical doctor so I ask you, could it be done? A simple unobtrusive method of detecting clogging arteries as an early warning system?
